This is slightly different then you need, becauase i`m looping clip too(was doing animated grass clips)but good to get you going. In your case i would create a short clip, with no loop, then instance and manage the offsets.
this is 60 frames clip for 360 spin with random offset….

you can use a quad remesh once u have the triangles 😮 or a regular remesh + subdivide to get all quads

For anyone interested in making your own ui color in Houdini I made a python panel that will load a hcs file so you can pick colors and then all you need to do is reload the color theme in Houdini, and here’s my blue theme I shared a screen shot of in.#hou-usd It should show up if you put this in your houdini documents folder / config. There’s some parts of the ui I still want to fix. This is just some insanity stuff I’m doing while trying to find work.

@eetum you dont need a wrangle, no 😮 but that’s a fun aspect of OCL in cops ive never looked at.
I just whipped up a VAT example for my class, here’s the file. It directly reads attributes from the geometry input.
the file also shows how to read from this cruddy VAT texture to apply the animation back onto the demo geometry (in this case a pighead)!
